Looking back, 2012 started off with a very wet day. Coming to the 5th, we were in a deluge. With the lost of a teenager. In this same year, I lost a few friends and also lost someone who once brought me to safety.
Reminiscing all the moments, I couldn’t help but to ponder how much has there been for me in 2012. Several of my plan went down the drain. I have also wasted a lot of time trying to set up something that wasn’t meant to be.
The biggest blow to me this year is my left leg. I am beginning to miss feeling it. It was a series of unfortunate events. started off in 2011 with an incident in reviewing food outlet for my client until April when I ended up in the operation theater removing viral wart. After the surgery, one day, as I was walking down my stairway to my kitchen, I slipped and fall. After I’ve fall, I felt numbness on my leg, but I could still feel the leg.
One day, almost towards the end of December, as I was taking some photos for some pitch, my leg stepped on uneven ground and I was rolling down the hill. Two days after that, as I was attending Munan’s wedding in Sri Aman, I had severe pain from my leg and I couldn’t feel that leg of mine ever since.
I was also been compelled to file for Pencen Ilat. Which means that I can no longer do any work in the field. It also means that I am on my way of becoming an official people with disability.
I have lost a few people close to me this year. First one being Suki, my fellow in Delta-Alpha-Epsilon. Second to miss is someone who once took me back to safety. He is a hero. He tried to save kids from drowning yesterday and cost him his life. Also Tony’s daddy who also lost his life in the same attempt. Also to miss is a friend with a very lovely smile – Eileen.
That has been the dark cloud over the years of 2012.
However, I was glad, there are also moments to cherish. I met Petertan.com in real life. Also, I have met a bunch of wonderful people from a group called “Do you remember?” on Facebook, beautiful people, wonderful people. Those whose life experiences can filled up 10 times of complete volumes of Encyclopaedia Britannica and more.
One fun part is that I was back in the food industries which I left alone in 2002. “Kuching Food Critics” was a few moments of fame and I think it is highly to be said that these moments are there to stay. There are still haters. Some will even go to the extend of chiding and casting voodoo.
At the closing of this year, I would like to wish all who is reading this a very fruitful 2013. God be gracious and I hope for the best of 2013. Happy New Year 2013
